Indirect Efficiency Measurement Method for Line-Start Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors

Despite the great potential and high performance of energy-efficient line-start permanent magnet synchronous motors (LSPMSMs), their developers face a deal difficulties, one which is lack reliable accurate testing methods for such electrical machines. In this paper, we propose new method indirectly determining efficiency LSPMSM through summation individual loss components. The standard input-output usually used these machines based on torque measurement, requires expensive measuring equipment, and, as rule, has uncertainty. Contrarily, proposed does not require direct measurement mechanical power shaft less sensitive to uncertainties. theoretical substantiation its experimental verification using commercially available four-pole with rated 0.55 kW are presented. Satisfactory convergence results obtained indirect shown.
